St. Edward’s Big Kids Enrichment Program
A Kindergarten Extended Day Experience

St. Edward provides an enrichment program for children who attend kindergarten in the morning. Children participate in a variety of enrichment activities including reading and math readiness, arts and crafts, science and social studies units, cooking, physical fitness, board games, and time for social interaction with their peers.

The Big Kid’s program is open Monday through Friday and follows the Granville School Calendar. Our hours are 11:45 AM – 3:15 PM. Children may attend 2,3,4 or 5 days a week.

Parents transport unless they have made arrangements for their child to use a bus by a local school system. All bus students are met by a St. Edward staff member at a agreed upon drop off point at St. Edward Parish. Parents must make all other travel arrangements.

Kindergarten students bring a packed lunch. A nutritious snack is provided daily for the children.

Our lead teachers are college degreed and the entire staff meets the qualifications required by the State of Ohio.

Our program is designed to provide a safe, fun and creative atmosphere where children can grow as individuals and is licensed by The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. A person trained in first aid is on site at all times.

Enrichment Activities:

  • The children will be involved with a yearlong study of recycling and nutrition as nuclei for science.
  • Literacy will be offered each day through reading and journaling.
  • Art supplies will be available daily for children’s own creative drawings or creations. Few crafts will be offered.
  • Assistance with kindergarten goals will be offered as requested by parents/teacher.
  • Snack will be provided and an intricate part of children’s learning.
  • Music awareness will be offered daily.
  • Computers will be available as a learning center choice.
  • Exercise will be a daily commitment.
  • A brief rest time will be offered after lunch with a book or just relaxing.
